John McCreery

John is a non-executive director and advisor with 34 years’ experience in global energy, resources and sustainability sectors with Bain & Company, Booz Allen Hamilton and Shell International. He has worked with world’s largest energy and resource companies on strategy, energy transition, sustainability and performance improvement.  He has extensive experience of M&A, investment strategy and commercial due diligence with world’s largest private equity investors.

As an expert partner, he will support fund strategy, commercial due diligence and operational performance in portfolio businesses.

Why is sustainability in aviation so important to you?

Aviation is a lifeblood of global connectivity and a significant driver of economic growth.  My professional career has coincided with a golden age of air travel where its democritisation has made it affordable to many when once it was the preserve of the few.

Sustainability in aviation will be essential to retain these benefits for millions of people around the world.

What excites you about the Clear Sky mission?

Clear Sky has a mission to change aviation forever; change in any industry is challenging and it is exciting to be involved.

How do you balance life with work?

‍I have always been able to balance life with work by making sure I take the time to do exactly that.

What is on your Spotify playlist right now?

From opera to classical music to something released this week; I’ve always had a love of music especially live.  It is hard to beat seeing a new band in the back room of a small venue.
